The University of Toronto is looking for an assistant/ full professor (Anatomical Pathologist) by the start day of July 1, 2021.

Unity Health Toronto and the University of Toronto’s Department of Laboratory Medicine and Pathobiology are seeking applications from qualified and highly motivated individuals to fill a permanent Anatomical Pathologist position in a partially subspecialized environment, at the rank of Assistant, Associate or full Professor. Experience or training in Breast Pathology would be preferred, however all subspecialties will be considered. The start date will be July 1, 2021 or as mutually agreed upon.

Key Responsibilities: We are a very collegial group, with a strong culture of scholarship. The successful candidate will provide excellence in a surgical pathology diagnostic clinical practice with partially subspecialty practice, be expected to participate in frozen section diagnosis and participate in after hours call. Interest in Autopsy would be valued. The successful candidate will also contribute to the academic mission of the Department, via participation in collaborative research and publishing scholarly work in the areas of diagnostic innovation, test utilization and/or clinical engagement would be an asset. The successful candidate must show evidence of excellent and innovative scholarship in teaching and education in undergraduate, post-graduate (residency and fellowship), and continuing medical education.
Key Skills Required: The qualified applicant must be eligible for medical licensure in the province of Ontario and must hold postgraduate qualifications in Pathology. The successful candidate should be eligible for an academic appointment in the Department of Laboratory Medicine and Pathobiology. Fellowship training or demonstrated subspecialty expertise/commitment is favoured. Rank will be commensurate with qualifications and experience
Salary and facilities offered: Compensation will be in accordance with the uniform level of compensation in the Province of Ontario (currently $367,392.00), where the Ministry of Health and Long Term Care has implemented a total compensation package that will equalize the successful candidate’s compensation with that of other Laboratory Physicians in the Province of Ontario.
